Top Gun - still one of my favourite films!
In the 1980s, I worked for an airline at Gatwick. During the deathly quiet winter nights, we'd watch videos through the night and Top Gun featured regularly in 1986 and beyond.
One night, someone brought in a porn video, part of which involved the three leading protagonists putting feathers on themselves and clucking madly as they went about their pornographic pursuits. At maybe 3.00 a.m., the airline's owner and chief executive walked in, having just come out of a late meeting that we did not know was happening. They stopped briefly when they saw what was on TV, then studied the operations board to see that everything was running as planned. There was total silence apart from demented clucking and lots of oohs and aahs and cries of deeper, deeper! from the TV.
They left as if they'd seen nothing, and wished us all good night.

96p?
You must've suffered the TRAUMA of the £1 pint very soon after.
I can remember when I was paying 12p a pint for Gray's bitter, about ten years before your 96p, although revolting Double Diamond was 22p.
